Depends. Some b-body bases were the same as some e-body types I think. But most were different. Depends on what year b-body too. I am sure they changed over the years.

Try looking them up on Year One's website and see if they share the same part number. Let us know what you find out.

I couldn't find anything about antennas at Year One tonight. My question is if the rear mounted T/A and AAR antennas is the same as other e-bodies' ones? My car is only keeping the base and a broken mast in there. Could I look for any e-bodies' antenna to replace mine?

It looks to me as if the base is different to the normal Challenger Antenna. But the actual telescoping mast part is the same. I am sure you can get all the individual parts at Year One.

Yeah, I found a complete kit in this link now http://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/part.asp?pid=RJ775&c=0&e=0&cat=1&hid=112AA4842

However if it's possible to replace only the broken mast with any E-body antenna mast I can start with the budget way at first.

Yeah I think any 70-71 Challenger telescoping mast would be OK. They changed to a solid mast at some point I think?

There was a solid one mounted on my car when I got it. Pretty sure it was not standard as I haven't seen one like it since.

The following text is from Restauration guide (Paul Herd):

A 60-inch manual-control antenna was used all eight years (67-74). However, some cars in 1969 to 1971 did use a 76 1/2"-inch-long manual antenna. On all models except those with the fiberglass hood, the antenna was mounted on the right front fender. Those models with the fiberglass hood had the antenna mounted on the rear quarter panel. The 1967-1969 models used the same antenna that was used on all A-bodies and 1968-1969 B-bodies.

With the 1970-1974 models, except those with the fiberglass hood, the antenna was designed specifically for the Challenger or Barracuda line only and will not interchange with other car lines. As previously mentioned, those models with a fiberglass hood had the antenna mounted on the rear quarter panel. This antenna can be found on Dusters, Darts, and 1972-1973 full-sized Dodges, Plymouths, and Chryslers with a manual antenna. A power antenna was never offered for the Barracuda or Challenger as original equipment.

Hope it helps and is correct.

Great information, Christer, thanks a lot.

By the way, can I read this text as if all fiberglass hood cars had manual telescoping antennaes and no solid/fixed masts existed or was any option?

Yes, I think so (but I am not sure). Only manual telescoping antennas.

The solid mast is for the AM/FM radio cars and the telescoping mast is for the AM radio cars. I found this out from a company in Florida that makes reproduction antennas for our cars..... can't remember their name right now but will post it when the cobwebs clear.

Yeah, I think you are right there. Just the other day, I found an ebay ad saying the same thing (se below)

Up for auction is this original OEM Mopar 1970- 74 Dodge Challenger or Plymouth Barracuda - E-body AM/FM non telescoping fixed antenna Mast! This is genuine mopar mast and is the correct 31" length for AM/FM cars.
