I have a rusted rear window sill that will have to eventually replace. Can anyone suggest any sources were I can get pre-shaped steel weld-in piece? I'd rather not have to shape the steel myself if I absolutely don't have to.

This too was addressed by the previous owner of my car and he claims to have had this piece replaced with sheet metal that was done at a professional restorers - all welded and leaded in place - although the finished look leaves much to be desired. I'll probably have this area re-done as it's not up to my standards. I believe that there are some places that advertise this panel for sale (rear deck lid ?) as its a commonly found problem area in E bodies with a vinyl roof.

That one inch wide or so strip between the two crome trim pieces is what needs to be replaced. The four or five inch wide piece just above the deck lid is in excellent condition.

Joel, i think that this piece is all the same. From your description, it sounds like the sheet metal between the rear window and trunk lid. The 1" wide strip is only where the chrome trim at the bottom of the vinyl ends on this panel. It's going to mean welding a piece in or leading. I'm not sure if you can buy a pre-formed piece.

My panel and inside rear package tray have pretty much been found to be rotted and I will need them replaced.
Is this a section that can be purchased as a repro part or does it involve finding a guy to custom make one of these?
Right now, the piece has a lot of Bondo on it from the previous owner and I don't want the area to remain that way.
Ideas? I'm lost!!!
