can a 70 or 71 grill fit good on a 72 car and will the wire harness need to be changed also?

The grille from a 70 or 71 will not fit a 72. The one's that will work are 72-74. The pictures on Dave's web site show the difference.

Here is a 72 or 73 (I can't remember which) with a 1970 grille. I think the mounting brackets changed from year to year but I don't think that matters. There is no electrical wiring involved Marcus because the lights are not part of the swap.

This car belongs to a guy called Duncan Watts and is all steel with iron headed 440. It runs in the mid 11 second range I think. Pretty damn fast anyway.

Now then if the question had been should I swap my 72-74 front end for a 70-71 I would have said no!

Yes thanks guys someone also told me that sure it can be done.but with alot of modifing,probly the case with the above car.Im gonna just stick with my 72 grill,I have 2 of em,I just thought if it was a easy exact fit,my taste leans to 71-70

Nice pages,notice how only the 72-74 grill have the head lights in it,that is were the altering has to be done I guess,cause they all seem to be mounted the same besides that.

I am in need of the one-piece outer grille that also includes the light bezels. I have looked but I have not been able to find one any where.
