Chrome mirror restoration

Postby Jack T » 10 Apr 2001 2:18

Months ago I asked if anyone knew of a business that restored chrome outside mirrors and none of you had an answer for me. In January I found J&J Restorations' ad on another website. After an exchange of e-mails I sent my mirrors and prepayment for their services off to Canada. I just got them back today and they are beautiful! If you have the G31 and G33 option code mirrors, don't short-change yourself and paint them - get your mirrors done right by this man. I highly recommend his work. He can be reached at gdaddio@videotron.ca
If you want to see pictures of the finished product, e-mail me and I'll send them to you.

I did not see my post a while ago, but I have a chrome mirror, that is in very rough shape. Still has the remove goodies with it. If someone wants to try to restore it.

Hey Jack!
Does he do those bits of chrome that go around the rear lights? Mine are getting pitted and lumpy.

SF - What are the remove goodies? Jules can retsore your mirror, I'm sure. He takes it apart, has the shop acid dip it and give it repeated copper dips and buffs until it's ready for chrome. Then they chrome it three times and he rebuilds it with new glass. In the case of my right mirror, he replaced the ball and socket that had gone all floppy. Email him for yourself if you would, please. gdaddio@videotron.ca is his address.

Dave, I have no idea if he works on taillight parts. Please contact him and see.

I thought I replied to this. Wonder what happened. I was offering the mirror to someone that needs it. Not for me. Mine are fine and painted. The removed goodies are the actual bezel where it goes in the door. Otherwise, it is complete.

A place called H &R Plasting in Ohio does fantastic work.Call Skip or Russ at 1 800 257-0123. I had my bumpers, guards and all of my stainless done there. They can do pot metal but no aluminum.

Jules does excellent work. I sent my right side mirror to him 2 weeks ago. He sent me pics of his process before sending it back to my. I am a happy camper and do recommend him too. He is a very nice gentleman.
