Somewhere I read that after a certain date, in 71, the steel wheels went from being painted body color to being painted black. My question is, are the black wheels supposed to be glossy or seim-gloss?

I think with wheel covers they were flat black.

Beginning in early March 1971, the wheels, when equipped with hub caps, were painted gloss black. (Mr Herd)
