Dave or anyone else have a picture that shows the correct placement of the rocker moldings? I'm adding them monday and need a picture to see if the ridge is on top or bottom. I think it would be on the bottom. Any clues very quickly would be helpful. Also, how many clips per side?

Another member sent his to me via email. I seem to think the mouldings were the wide 3 1/2 type. I have never seen this thin version. Any clues anyone.

here is what I think is correct.

I think that the mouldings were of the wide type in 1970 and that they were replaced by thinner mouldings between 1971-1974. Is there anybody who is able to confirm this?

It appears to me that the wide mouldings were used both in 1970 and 1971!
They were listed as part numbers 3419792 (right) and 3419793 (left).
They were held on by nine retainers, two nuts and two screws.

The repros from Metro Auto Parts are all held on by retainers, no screws or nuts, which by the way doesnt bother me but I'd like a picture if anyone has one. Thanks Christer for responding. I'm a bit nervous drilling exact hole sizes for these push in type clips.

Just center the moulding on the sill and mark where you need the holes. Start with holes much smaller and try to fit it. If they are too small they simply will not go in. Just go one size bigger untill they snap in. Job done. Easy peasy.

The fact that Challengers came with two different types of mouldings depending on year, can easily be seen in the option price list. The wide type of mouldings (1970-71) were an $21 dollar option while the thinner ones were priced at $13. It is not so often that things get cheaper but here is an exception to the rule!
