Does anybody know where I can get front and side marker lens for my 70 T/A Challenger? I have tried ebay, moparts and so on. I had bought a set from some idiot that said they were in great condition.I got burned. they were in pretty poor shape.Worse than the ones I had. The T/A is in the paint shop and would like to replace my old marker lens with something better.

If you are in the USA get a Year One Dodge/Plymouth parts catalogue. They were $5 & make an excellent reference source even if you don't get the bits from them.

I heard from JAck's Auto parts that someone is tooling these as we speak and they'll be ready by mid summer. He is in NJ if anyone wants to track these down later.

Just looked again. Go to yearone.com and click on mopar e-bodies then click on 'body'. They have a list of side marker lights and 1970-71 are listed.
Part number JM634 and they cost $175 for a full set front/rear which is less money than I was asked for for a pair of good used front lenses.

I know Year One has them.I purchased a set for $175 and sent them back. The front lens were very red in color. Not even close to the orininal amber color. The cost is also too much for them considering.

You would think for that price the person developing it would get it right wouldn't you?
Advertising for good used bits is your only option then.

If the housings are sound and correct in appearance can't you use a repro set of lenses that are correct in color? I'm having issue with the chrome bezel not the lenses.

The problem is Steve that these are the only repros and it looks like they are very far from right.
When looking for used replacements don't forget that the 1970 Charger used the same units (side markers AND front turn signals) only on the Charger the side markers were mounted upside down.

Somebody was selling repro side marker lenses at the Spring Fling today - I'll track them down and take a look at the color tomorrow.

I agree with you Dave. For that kind of money you would think they would be right. That is why I sent the ones I bought back. My housings are in great shape and the chrome bezels were just re chromed. This lens business has really got me down in the dump.If the 70 Charger used the same marker lens why doesn't anybody tell you that. Maybe I should try locating markers from the model too. If there is anybody out there who can help please don't hesitate to let me know.

I have never compared the Charger lens side by side with the Challenger but hey look the same to me and you would expect them to be the same too wouldn't you.

OK - I checcked with the vendors at the Spring Fling. The source you all know about is making the 70-71 side marker lenses for the Year One - Laysons - Penstar group of repro parts houses and yes, the color match was not too good. Another source was MOPAR Ed in Fresno, but he has sold out. His were true reproductions right down to the Pentastar emblem in them and the color match was great. He is considering making more if the demand is there. I'll see if he wants his email address posted here so you can let him know you want them.

That would be great. I am running out of time.I surely thought by starting to look 4 months ago was enough time to locate a set. Boy was I wrong.Nobody to blame but myself.
