Door Window Mechanism & Diagram

Postby cv70chall » 29 Apr 2015 16:37

Hi Everyone,

I'm going to attempt to change out my door glass and quarter glass and have never done it. I need to know a few things.

1. How many padded guides are there in each door?
2. What protects the glass from being scratched/ scuffed at the top of the door (besides the trim pieces)?
3. Does anyone know of a diagram showing the layout of the internal mechanism?

Anything else I need to know?

There are guides either end of each side door glass, but I think the qtr lights have just one.
There's 2fuzzy felt pads at both sides on the inside top of each door.

It's a pretty easy job Chuck but you gotta be patient when aligning them, takes ages sometimes.

Just Google e body door glass/lifter mechanism & you'll find plenty of diagrams.
Even the old simple Chilton manual has a good pic & guide.

Thanks!
So, just 2 fuzzies on each door, right?
