New here

Hello everyone,

My name is David, I am 25, and new to this forum. 3 years ago I purchased a 1974 Dodge Challenger on ebay with extensive rust. Since I purchased the car I have torn it down to bare metal, and replaced one of the 3 rotted frame rails. In the near future I am planning on replacing the firewall and upper cowl panels, as well as the front floor pan, and rear halves. Until then I am working on reassembling the dash assembly.

Further down the road I will be replacing the two rear frame rails, wheel wells, trunk floor, and replacing both quarter panels. I will also have to do some minor repair work to the tail light panel. Eventually the car will be painted HB5 Blue, and I am going to paint the hood bulge and T/A style stripes flat black. The interior will be two tone, Blue and Black with silver/chrome accents here and there throughout.

The car came with a 318, and column shifted automatic transmission. I dont yet know what gears are in the rear, but I hope its at least 3.23. I plan on converting to a Tremec 5 speed manual transmision. As for the engine, I have swapped the cam for something with a little more sound, and swapped to a dual plan intake manifold, and will be adding headers when I can afford to purchase them.

I am looking forward to learning more about the original Dodge Challengers, and sharing my progress as the car comes back to life. Thanks in advance for all the help I am sure you will all be providing.

At the moment I am posting from my phone and have limited images of the progress on here. I am also unsure if the photo will upload from my phone, but the photo is a panoramic of my dash so far. When I get back home from Seattle Ill post more pictures.

*Forgot to mention that its a panoramic so there are abnormalities in the photo.*
