Hey Dave, do you remember when you started this forum? Oldest posts we have here today are dated March 1st 2001.

Those were migrated from old forum back in late 2003 I think. Digging archive.org brings some old pages as well, for example this one that says new (second?) version of forum went live December 3rd 2002.

Here's link to oldest post I found.

I don't remember exactly but I think it was the late 90s when I started the first version of the forum.

"The Challenger Home Page" website started mid 90s and I created a new version with a side frame for links in 1997.
My first message board started after that because of the number of questions I was getting via email. Many of them were the same questions over and over again so I decided to create the message board so that people could access the answers without having to mail me. But how long after 1997 that happened I can't remember. Not long after I think.

The very first email I ever sent was to Dave, it was through one of the boards from a pal's house before I had a computer. It seems like it was about 13-14 years ago.

How time flies!

Like I said above the number of emails I was getting was increasing to the point where I needed to do something about it. In the early days I didn't even have my own email address or the internet at home and shared a work address with two other people. So a message board was the easiest way of holding the information needed and providing a library and kind of a FAQ for owners.

Here at work I have to log onto a pc all the time even when not in the office and have to log into other PCs when I am out and about so it is not hard for me to look in on this board so many times per day.

Ya know Dave that is key to the success of this board, due to the fact you respond so quickly, I could easily call someone here and wait ,or when I post here I get a quicker response here on this board ,than I can here in the states so this board has been very valuable to me :s004:

Yep. I am quick if I know the answer off the top of my head or am not too busy at work to type.

But it is always better to wait long enough for Barry to give you the correct answer.
