If you see some errors on forum today and tomorrow it's due me doing version upgrade. I think I found solution to problem with 2003 and older posts which was biggest challenge. Attachment inlining is also fixed.

Nice job JR.
I am wondering other than the time Dave puts in as the admim and JR with the teck stuff (which is greatly appreciated, thank you both) does it cost anything to run the board? Someone must have to cover costs for the servers and software?

Don't worry. Dave sends me hefty check every month to cover all expenses. :s015:

Weird, I kinda like the older format. This is a strange place  I love the pic at the Top of the page though. I think we went down/up that Road on our VP trip.

JR has been really woking hard on this new version all weekend. I really like it.

Hopefully it will be a little harder for spammers to register here now at least for now but there is more that can be done if the problem persists. The down side being it is harder for new users to register.

Here's real answers as your question is perfectly valid and deserves proper reply.

Hardware: Free. You know how big companies trash perfectly good computers just because hardware maintenance contract is about to expire and it's cheaper to buy brand new rather than extended support for old one? Well that's exactly what happened - lucky for us.

Software: Free. Running on Linux with free forum software.

Maintenance: Free. What else would I do than maintain hardware and software for you guys.

Internet, Electricity, Cooling, Rent for physical location: These are where money changes hands. I don't pay for it because my friend Teppo Oranne sponsors all these for us and has done so since 2003.

Content: Free. This is where I'm counting on you guys to keep this place alive - with occasional mumbles from Dave-R of course.

I would have given up on this message board many years ago without JRs help, technical skill, spare time and his friends generosity in giving our server a home.

I am only here "in name" and have very little at all to do with running this board behind the scenes.

I don't even understand how this place works any more. I get the gist of it but that is all.

Without JR there would be no message board or this little network of Challenger owners around the world.

Thank you JR.
Dave.

PS
I haven't paid for a PC for many years. Do people still buy them?

Thats cool. so realy no $$ costs at all and only one sponser. I am running Linux Ubuntu on one of my laptops, I realy like it and considered getting rid of windows on my other one but I have some hardware that Linux doesn't have drivers for yet.
Nice job on the new forum format. Like the pic up top of the page. :)

Not now!.

I really like this new Board layout. Took me a few minutes of headscratching to figure out the PM's. I think that's a shortfall on my account though, rather than the Board design.

It's always a bit odd at first when something you're familiar with changes, but I reckon this differentiates us from other Boards which had the same layout. Big thumbs up to all those involved. :s017:
