Santa brought me some essentials-

Firewall & Kick panel insulation kits,
Date-coded spark plug wires, new alternator and enough Hushmat to do my entire floor.

Thanks, Santa!

Xmas 2009 (not 2010) I got this lovely designed remote controlled model car (1:24). It is a 2006 Challenger Concept according to the box. It is made by Maisto and I have not had any problems with it accept for a lose outer mirror which I glued back again.

Doesn't it look nice? 8) 8) 8) It was very cheap to buy. It only costed about $30-$40. It has power enough to spin the wheels on an oridinary floor. It was sold out the first two times when we wanted to buy it. The third time we tried, we got a car. Challengers are very popular also as a model cars. :s025:

Not much to speak about this season as business is really slow. A couple years back I got this guy though. Pretty quick handling and spins the wheels too. 8)

Yeah, that year his sleigh was a Peterbilt pulling a low-bed. Uncle Sam helped bring it home too with some hefty tax credits. Those were the good ol' days building new homes for a living. Not much going on except remodels now. Got the tractor for side work as I have an Earthwork license also.

Nice boat there Dan. Is it for the ocean? It seems to have a strong bow curve to it ?

I think the boat would handle ocean going but I am not up for it just yet. We have about 600 square kilometers of lakes systems where I live so I will be bobbing around in that for a while. I still have a few days of work on the boat and trailer so I havn't had much time on the Cahllenger :( . Hopfully the boat will be ready to roll by the weekend, then back onto the dodge.

Is it true that there is a lot of overseas investors buying up housing in the USA and refurbishing them??

After a house goes in to foreclosure , it is subject to auction so a 300k house has sold for as little as 10k , so yes it is making it very easy for investors around the world to own a part this country :s001:

I'm not sure about international investors but some people are still trying to "fix n flip" distressed properties. Problem is prices are still falling so you have to get a great deal and flip it quick. Holding long term and renting the property may pan out but for me I don't really want to be a landlord. :s020:

I've seen a report on TV last week, some people are making a very good living buying property in Florida and then selling it overseas (mainly in South America, Belgium, Italy and France). The guy I saw interviewed also bought property for himself whenever he made a profit. He and his brother have bought 94 flats for themselves during the past 18 months. I also heard of a guy who happened to have a little money on his hands, bought a motel (cheaper than the house I live in), moved to the US and is now running the motel.

I know of one guy who bought a nice small house in Florida (west coast), for 80 grand.

If I didn't have a mortgage at the moment, I'd be getting one for a house in the US (or a whole block in downtown Detroit, as a friend of mine suggested :? ).

I hear the banks have 5000 "new" houses to sell each month in Florida.

At least they haven't made the same decision as banks in California and Las Vegas (cheaper to bulldoze through entire neighborhoods than to insure the property they have seized, and pay security guards to make sure the houses are not broken in).

Well the joke is............I have some swamp land in Florida i need to sell

Florida is very nice, except when a hurricane hits, or an oil well explodes, making property values plummet :frown:

I thought Disney owned most of Florida anyway?

Florida is pretty hot and humid in the summer. HOA fees, Mello Rois, property taxes, and other costs should be considered also.

Anyone interested in San Miguel California?

That one is the next canyon over Drew. Neighborhood of 5-20 acre parcels with a rural farm atmosphere. 15 minutes to town, 40 minutes to the pacific.

Good dual-sport roads in the area Adrian, offlimits for the Dodge though. A bit too rough as the county just cold patches the potholes.
