Nice little meander

Postby DINGBAT » 26 Jul 2010 9:18

Got a chance to run the Chilly out yesterday with a group of friends.
We drove out of Dublin and into the Wicklow mountains over what is known as The Sally Gap. Its a section of road they have used in the circuit of Ireland Rally where their average speed exceeds 100mph.
We met all kinds of weather and all types of critters.
The car performed very well with no issues.

Drew if by LS6 you mean a 454 B/B then no she runs a 350 S/B.
She is a lovely car though the lad imported her from Georgia a couple of years ago.

You are still registered on it Wayne you keep nicking my gags.

I must add Dave it is nothing like this site for informative and exact information when requested.
Its more of an anything goes Forum.
Ask a question in relation to a mechanical issue & you may get an answer but the thread will usually deviate and you might end up getting asked how many pints you had last night or how big is your bell end.
It,s a little nuts but all in the best possible taste.

From 20ft away yes. The body is in very good condition apart from a some micro blisters on the roof and a couple of rough bits on the sail panels.
These have not got any worse in the 18mths I have had the car but they will need attention in the near future.
Treating, repairing & fitting a vinyl roof would be the answer as a triple black car looks the dogs.
The vinyl can be garnished at Year One but the chrome trims for the rear are nigh on impossible to source. Failing that a paint job is on the cards.

I have a set of trims for the rear. Pete Wiseman was just asking about them the other day on behalf of someone else. If you are quick with an offer (any offer will do  ) I can say they are yours.

One of the two bits is kinked but with careful work could be tapped pretty straight.

I,ll be there early on Friday morning, I,m using the daily as I have the grandson with me and he is used to the creature comforts, stopping on the M6 to pull a gearbox would not suit him at all.
I should be able to find a bottle of your favoured falling down water on the ferry.
