I have J.C. Taylor antique and collectors Ins. Fortunately, I haven't had to use them yet. Coverage is awesome and the annual price is great, too!
Way better than the Farmers undercoverage I had.
And it was recommended from my Farmers agent.

I have Grundy. I needed a company that would cover a project car that was all torn apart. They said they would cover it. I think the car is insured for $30,000 and the premium is less than $200 a year.

I have Hagerty. Inexpensive, but my car's not really that valuable.

im insuring my chally for 60 k and he barracuda for 20 k, for now, and its $995.00 a year,
but the big question is how well do these companies pay out when needed,
i dont know and dont want to know, but if anybody has i would like to know.
perhaps is there someone whom was involved in the scottsdale storm?

My insurance is coming due in two weeks,, this is good timing.
I was talking with a friend and the question came up, "What happens if someone hits you (their fault) and
their ins. co says the car is worth less then repairs so it's a total loss?"
Would the collector car insurance come in and pay the balance to actually get the car back to normal?
I called Hagerty today and they didn't have much solid information on this subject.

With collector car insurance, you need "agreed value". That is the price they agree to pay you if the car is a total loss. That is the price your premiums are based on. If someone else hits you and the car is a total loss, the payout is the "agreed value".
The only time I've heard of there being problems is if you are driving the car outside the terms of the contract...driving the car to work, not having it parked in a locked garage, exc...

Well after having insurance with several of the big Co and my last Co was American Modern Ins as they were great- same coverage as hagery, JC and all the other and they were about 25% less than Hageryy
Well just fell into a Co who rates are far better than all the collector car Insurance Co out there its called BJ Insurance by Delph Co.
Ok,Ok ya I know its has BJ name but let me tell you as this Comapny has far superior rates over vthe other Co, agrred value 150% of car value, no limts on use, project are covered and the biggy is they have free flat bed towing with no mileage limits- so if your needs towing for 200 miles - guess what cost is $0
The conatc name is

I checked their website. There is no mention of how many miles per year you can drive your car and conditions as to when you drive it.

Currently dealing with American Collectors Insurance for possible coverage. They balked at my 38k agreed value at first. Seems an R/T is more valuable than a V8 even though it's an a66 code. Just got to deal with some details and try to educate them I guess.
BTW: ACI is Gecko's subcontractor for collector car underwriting.
