Dave,
I'm fairly new here and have posted a few questions. I've also browsed a lot of other posts. MAN! You get around. I don't know if this has been posted before, but I think you deserve a big thanks from a lot of people. You always seem to be here with an answer.
I'm curious. What is your affiliation with this board? And that avitar! I already read the post about who that creepy guy is, but maybe you can share a pic of yourself so we know who to thank!
Paul
BTW, here's a pic of me so you know who is thanking you!

Yes I do! It comes for having a job where I have to have a PC on all the time to monitor other stuff. So this message board and a few others tend to run in the background all the time.

Not always the right answer! But thanks anyway. :D

Well I started out in the mid-90s with the very first webpage on the internet about Challengers. It was all about the model through the years of production. There were a few mistakes on it but i did my homework as best as possible and it was the only free source of information out there for many years. The strange thing being that i am in England and you would have thought there would have been a US based website somewhere. But there wasn't.

Later I created this message board to cope with the dozens of emails I used to get every day from other Challenger owners wanting more detailed information.

Eventually this board became the main focus and my web page became neglected and out of date. But not really being an "IT" guy I was struggling to run a message board without technical assistance.
This is where Johan Ronkainen ("JR") in Finland came in and offered to host this message board for me and also he created this version of the board when this software became the standard to use.
Without JR I would have given up and dropped the board completely. So really he is the guy we all need to thank.

BTW, here's a pic of me so you know who is thanking you!

Bloody hell it's Magnum PI!

Here is myself giving a British welcome to a couple of the guys on here I met this summer. I think I was telling Drew I wanted two burgers on the BBQ.

Dave,
I see you have a sense of humor! Thanks for sharing the pic. I prefer that over the avitar pic. (good thing you didn't want just 1 burger!) When people mention that I look like Tom Selleck (which occasionally happens) my wife usually just rolls her eyes. She thinks my head is too big aleady.
BTW, we have something in common. I started my site in the mid 90's also, but it deals in little cars, mostly Hot Wheels and Matchbox. It has actually grown to the No.1 site in the world for buying and selling them. We currently have nearly 14,000 members. It keeps me pretty busy too.
I'm glad I have a webmaster to help me out because I also need a lot of help.
You're doing a great job and provide a great service here. Keep up the good work.
Paul

Actually I wasn't "packin" in that pic. I worked for a few years as a Law Enforcement Officer with the National Park Service. I started out carrying my own .357 S&W, but later switched to a Sig Saur 9mm. It was much easier to pack around on the trails.
I now work for Homeland Security.

You are doing a great job on the Challenger Paul. Keep up the good work Sir! :)

By the way I am 50 years old. I just act 30 years younger.
And you are right. I do have a sense of humour and make jokes all the time. I find it makes up for my lack of intelligence and social grace.

Off topic but speaking of humour -I just love the dry, tongue in cheek English sense of humour - British comedy eg Monty Python, Benny Hill, Are you Being Served, the Two Ronnies. Love em! But also got a soft spot for The Three Stooges, The Adams Family and Get Smart. Classics! (yes, showing my age, i know!)

Actually I get that a lot. Not as much as I used to though. That pic is about 12 years old. We've both aged a bit since then. Here's a more recent pic. when I won the Senior Championship at the local golf club.

I have to brag just a bit on that win. (last year) In the semi-final match of the match play tournament, I shot a 2 on the last hole. The cool thing is that it is a par 5 and it is the first time in the history of the course (75+ years) that anyone has ever "double eagled" a par 5. The President of the Oregon Golf Association was standing on the balcony of the club house and was the only close up witness to this. I shot a 71 that day. Not bad for a 53 year old, washed up, former Tom Selleck look alike.

Wow that is impressive!
The family next door to me have sent their daughter to be educated at a college in the USA that specialises in training up golf pros. She has been playing since she was a little girl and is really good. The whole family are thinking about moving to the US to live because she could make a good living there just by playing golf.

The odds would be against her unless she is extremely talented. When Tiger turned pro, everybody over here thought their kid would be the next Tiger and got them golfing. I think they are rethinking that one just a bit! BTW, I heard that Nike might drop Tiger as a sponsor, but Trojan is picking him up!
A couple years back I was going to enroll in a well known Golf Instructors School in So. Cal., but my wife had a bit of a problem with that. The only way I could make money at golf is to teach, or to continue to snag a few bucks from the locals on side bets. (usually pays for the beer)
