End of year Car Show

Postby Eddie » 24 Oct 2009 19:31

It was pretty chilly out this morn. 39 degrees. reminded me of our night in Ely, Nevada..here are some nice Challengers that were there today. There were 189 Cars,, 7 MoPars,,3 Challenger R/T's including mine. One was a National caliber 1970 Hemi Powered R/T owned and restored by Mr. Ken Mosier,,(Finer Details) a "class act" who is very knowledgeable and has restored some of the nicest Challengers in the world.

I'm sure if the Judges 'knew' MoPar they would have given Ken the Best MoPar of Show but he won Peoples Choice and Top 25. I won Best MoPar and Top 25. I told Ken he deserved the best MoPar!

That isn't the Hemi Challenger once owned by Richard Ward here in the UK is it?
I can't remember if Richard's had a white top or not. But I do seem to remember it sold to someone in the mid-west.

Thanks for the great pictures there Ed, i downloaded most of them to my Mopar library! Well done on picking up the prizes. Can't believe only 7 Mopars in 189 entries!!? That AMC was so tiny, i have never seen one like that -what year is it? That must have been the smallest US made car of its time surely. No wonder they held so many 1/4 mile records.

Th eng bay in that 70 RT is just incredible. Does Ken drive it or is it trailered everywhere?

A couple of questions...what is the purpose of the blank yellow stripe on the rad support directly in front on that Challenger?

Also, the battery circuit breaker bar on the GTX - where do i get them from? I have never seen them here and would like to buy a couple. What a great idea.

Dave: I dont know but he told me it was a customers Car. From the looks of it,,I dont think it's driven that much. Steve: The Yellow 'stripe' is actually a service decal for the engines cooling system,,available at Year One, Paddock,ECS ect. The battery dis-connect can be had at many different parts stores, Farm&Lawn&Garden centers, or at Summit or Jeggies.

Yes, it was Andy, and it was very 'correct' he also has 1 of the 2 reported smallblock Shakers made in 70. It's undergoing a complete concours resto and should be ready by the 2010 show season. His Challengers have won both the MoPar Nats and the Carlisle shows. He does VERY nice work "The Finer details" is his business.

Forgot to mention Steve. This is gm country,,90% or more of the 'muscle cars' you see around these here parts are either shivy, or some other gm type of car,,there were at least 50 vettes there! . They all look the same the people all dress the same,,they even smell the same. This GTX is 472 Hemi Powered,,gets more attention than a chick in a bikini,,lays down a strip of molten rubber 100 ft. long,(I know this for a fact as I was smiling as he wooded the 2-4s next to my home and lit em up). He also has a new Z06 Vette. It barley got noticed by anyone with all those vettes there. His GTX had people all over it and Won a Top 25 award.. He's a typical GM guy but fell to the 'Hemi spell" a few months ago and bought this GeeTex and is thinking of selling his Z06!!
