Oh! Thanks for the heads up. Are you on subscription or is the mag on the news stands now? I will have a look at lunchtime if it is out.

Spotted it this lunchtime. It is the photo below.

Diana is going to be mad as hell when she sees Dave McBride has called her Linda in the caption.

Dave and Linda Robson drove all the way from Newcastle in their 1970 440 Six Pack Challenger R/T. Dave has spent the past couple of years restifying the Dodge.

Fabian Bernard's white Chally is in there too.

Apparantly doing 9 second runs with your 500 inch engine Fabian.

Best I did there was 12.30.
As I found out back home, the secondary butterflies on my carb could not open fully, with the accelerator pump rod hitting the bowl fuel fitting :(
Back then, I also thought I had some rev limiter problems (same as you did, with the same MSD ignition). And smallish tires (26) on bulky steel wheels.

I sorted all this out this month, at a RWYB in Northern France (no big carb though, I used the Street Avenger 'cause I was lazy). Rev limiter 'problems' were in fact a tach problem : my tach had totally reset (reset to a 5 spark per rev configuration, go figure), I thought I was losing fuel at 5.1/5.2k RPM, when I was in fact hitting the real rev limit at 6.5k. Shiftlite was turned off. It took me 10 minutes with the user's manual to reprogram it again.
I also have brand new racing wheels with 28.5 tires, along with a line lock!
I still have to make some mods to the line lock (install it on the front circuit, I tried it on the rar and I can't use it like that).
I haven't been able to burn out properly yet, the race tires hook up immediately and drag the whole car forward even with the front wheels jammed ! There was no chronometers, but my trusty(?) old G-tek said 11.93s. That was enough to put a stupid smile on my face for the week-end...
Next year I'll do better at Santa Pod!

Wow. Pretty good if it will do that on the track. That was the sort of time I was hoping for. Maybe next time eh? :)

which run was that then ? didnt realise you got off the line that well, i remember seeing 1.71 on one of your slips, although you should be pulling 1.6 60fts with 4.30 gears
