Big-Buck Challengers for sale

Postby Moparman1972 » 27 Jul 2009 18:10

Currently on ebay, out of 22 1970-1974 Challengers for sale, 3 of them have a listing price of over $100,000. Just thought that was interesting.

The Insidious one is by far the most professional, but also the worst looking in my opinion. The body lines look soft, the car looks like a black hole with no contrasting trim, and the hood looks awful.

The one thing that does look great is the smoothed/integrated front bumper. I was thinking hard about doing this to mine after seeing project pictures of a guy doing it to a '71 Cuda. What do you guys think of that look? (Ignore the ugly ugly hood :disbelief: )

Well,...it is defenately something different....
Thanks for posting.

I believe it would look better if there was more contrast to all the black.
....say some silver color....

Very much agreed. It is hard to even make out the body lines, and the grille is just a black hole. Burdar, sorry for not posting the link. Lunch break was over! :s022: :s023:

yes i have been told the same thing it amazing what happens to the look of a car when you shave door handles, side markers, gas cap, bumpers, etc how much your eye gets lost in the line of the car ,me personally i love this car , my bro saw it a sema a year ago and of course i fell in love with it, the work alone must have take mega hours, alot of dedication went in to this car, everyone would do theres different, and i would change a few things my self but man the hours to get this car like this 150,000 k is way less than if you were to do it your self, but this is a show car and i wouldnt get to enjoy it as much as i enjoy mine ,that is to just DRIVE IT! :s009:i guess the main thing is if i were to say any thing at all is WHATS WITH THE TOYOTA SUPRA HOOD SCOOP!!!! :rage:

I like it. I don't think the pictures are doing it any justice. It probably looks a lot better in person.

The hood goes along with the rest of the car. Notice the car has airplane gauges in it. The switch panel and even the pistol grip are made to look like you are in an aircraft. The hood resembles the air intakes below the cockpit on a fighter jet. I'm not a fan of split 5-spoke wheels but they look OK on that car.

Interesting concept for sure. :) Couldn't load all the pictures but first off the Hood doesn't fit too well. A few Ripples and bad margins in the driver-side also. Lots of time and money spent for sure. :s022: 150k seems a bit high IMO though.
