It was 73 here yesterday. My stepson called and said he was working near the beach in Morro Bay and it was 85! (Sorry guys to the east :s022: ) We are under the same high pressure as you Pat. Suppose to last till Wednesday. No rain though still 2.5" so far. We are way behind.

As for gas, holding steady at $2.29 for 91 octane. Diesel ticked up to $2.45 though. :s001: Ive been buying offroad fuel for the tractors and it is 40 cents cheaper. Yes that's the current road tax for Arnold and the Fed boys. California is hurting right now with a 41 billion dollar state budget deficit so that may go up soon. That and property taxes and sales taxes and........

-15 This morning in CT. My Porsche had trouble cranking over, but I got it started before it died.

A whopping 4 people at work had to hitch rides in, because they didn't have enough antifreeze and froze their hoses, overheated their cars.

I hate cold weather.......hate it hate it hate it. I am moving down south someday.

O.K., we had the monster snow. Then, everything flooded. Now we've been getting hit by sustained wind's of 50+ mile an hour East wind's with, gust's of up to 80 M.P.H. The wind's have been hitting us, for the last three day's. Our roof has taken all it can take. The roof has now attacked all of our car's, with the exception of my old truck and, the Challenger. What is coming loose is, ten year old Three Tab. It has ruined the paint on my wife's Mazda, plus deeply scratched the window glass. Trashed our Explorer, Volare' and, my Nisson, too. Beside's dent's, the damage look's like someone came by and, used super coarse sand paper and tar on our car's.UUUUUUUGGGGHHHH!!!!!! :rage: At least we have good Insurance coverage on everything but, the Volare' :wink2:
I'm ready for some decent weather and, not just a couple of teaser day's like we got last week. :s008:

The Challenger is just fine. The insurance adjuster came by my work today, to look at the Nisson. He informed me the the car will be "Totaled" Being a 1993, they don't think it's worth a repaint. My wife's car is getting looked at, tomorrow. Her car is in worse shape, than mine. :s001: But, it's only a couple of year's old. The Insurance Co. is assessing the house, Friday morning. I think it's going to get uglier before, it gets any better. The roof has two layer's of single's. Hopefully that will be enough, until it get's fixed. Thing's could be worse.
I have to just wonder.... What's next????? :s012:

Sorry to hear your situation Pat, that's a big worry. The cars are one thing but roof leaks in your home are the worst!

With two old layers already you may need to have it stripped to the sheathing eventually and start over. Hopefully insurance will help out right away. They should know to act fast or other damage inside the house may occur next rain. Is there any bare wood showing?

What a kick in the teeth. :(

I hope you get a good settlement on the car they are writing off. Over here the Insurance bastards usually only offer the lowest book price unless you hassle them for more.

I accepted $1350.00, for the 93' Nisson and, bought it back for $200.00. A few scratch's don't bother me. Beside's, the kid is getting the car, anyway. And, that makes it an even better first car, for her. They estimated around $4000.00, to fix the wife's car. What I'm fighting the Insurance Co. for is, the $2800.00, they want to give me to fix the roof. Replacing the garage portion and, just patching, the main roof of the house. I'm affraid it's going to look like the Frickin', "Partridge Family Bus". The fight has, only begun!

Good luck, Eddie and Dale. Look's like you guy's are getting a good shot of winter weather, also. Hope thing's hold together, for everyone else, than it did for me.

You have to expect hassle with insurance companies. They don't like letting go of their money.

Sometimes the wording is what catches you out. If the roof can be repaired then that is probably all they will hand out for and it may be that is all you are insured for rather then complete replacement. Check your small print.

But on your side it has to be repaired to look at least as good as it did before. If patching it up is going to leave the roof looking odd then I think they should pay for a complete new roof.

But getting them to see that is the tricky bit and I don't envy you right now. :(
