Monterey Historic Trans-Am on SPEED

Postby blackmagic73 » 21 Nov 2008 17:30

Anyone else watch this race today on the SPEED channel? Being as young as I am, I missed these cars the first time around back in the day, so seeing them on the track going head to head is truly awesome. Especially watching the #77 Challenger duking it out for the lead with a Camaro and a Boss Mustang. And who won? The Dodge, of course.
Anyone here ever watch one of the original Trans-Am races?

That generation of TransAm and the '70s CanAm and the old Camel GT races are/were the coolest races to watch  The TransAm b/c of their relative closeness to stripped down factory cars, so the average spectator could actually grasp what was racing, the CanAm cars for the European handling with brute American horsepower to move them along and the Camel GT cars for their handling and raw power from the big blocks screaming down the course :V8:
Sort of sends shivers down my back just watching it now in my mind's eye
