I have been watching a show called "Overhauling" where Chip Foose restores a car in a week. Yesterday he was restoring a 67 Dodge Coronet. That brought back some good memories of the one that I owned. Coronet 440 with a 383 auto. That was a fun car to drive and I thought how nice it would be to have it back. Other cars that I wish I could have back include: 68 Sport Satellite 383 auto, 72 Satellite Sebring 318 auto. and my first new car a 74 Duster 225 3 speed on the floor.

Let's hear about the one some of cars you have let get away.

1970 Plymouth Superbird, 4406BBL, steep highway gears maybe 3.23's or less, it had NO bottom end but it did have a remarkable top end! Every Time I go to a MoPar show and see the Winged Warriors it brings a 'tear' to me eye! I also remember 'dusting' a worked 396SS Chevy with it in the 14 days I had it! It was my 1st car bought with money I made washing dishes, delivering papers, shoveling snow, corn detassling. I couldnt afford the 1200.00/yr. insurance and this was 1974/75? The second car was a 1973 Ply. RR with factory 340, factory Limelight paint, RR callouts, pretty cool for a small block but it was a porker! It won it fair share of races, but the Big Block guys clobbered me. I had it fo a few years and had to sell it. Trouble with the Coppers. Both cars were destroyed in accidents.(According to what other folks have told me) Oh and my "Al Bundy" car! A 1976 Ply. Duster with the /6 and "Mondo" one barrel. I drove the piss outta it and it rusted away, but the tower of power kept on running. I got 75.00 bucks for it at salvage. The car was literally falling apart with corrosion. LOL

When you are talking about insurances Ed, do you got some special privileges in U.s these days, for owners that own old special cars?
In Sweden, i am happy to say that we who own special cars have our own insurance system and i pay only $215/ year (The whole year) That is cheaper then my old Volvo i use during Winter The guys that are interested in new euro cars or asian cars can pay 10 times more, if that is enough...

You have an option over here with Specialty Insurance just for Collector cars or 'plain insurance' for your car from a standard insurance carrier or underwriter. Example: My 1990 W-150 Dodge 4x4 truck is approx 300.00 a year for full coverage with 1000.00 deductable,(I pay the first 1000.00), of course the truck is worth 2,000.00 tops! My Challenger is 850.00/yr. for $189,000 coverage which is approx. 75% of it's market value and is 'specialty insurance' through a local carrier,(underwriter).

Eddie, those were some fast cars. I was not fortunate enough to be able to afford those so the 383 sport satelite was the hottest car I have had. Today that car would be worth quiet a bit because of the opptions that were on it. 383 -4 barrell dual exhaust engine. PS, PB, Power windows, rear defrost, vinal top and Cruise control. in Red with black vinal. It was geared high. Top end was faster than io wanted to go. The slant 6 you talked about was a work horse. I had well over 100,000 miles on several of them.
