Im my country they quite often steal our American cars (even good restored examples) and do this to them. Usually these morons are scrap metal merchants with big families. They only survive one race meeting because they use them in demolition derbys at the end of the night and then they scrap them so even if the car was spotted the evidence has gone.

" I bought the car in good faith from a couple of guys that brought it in here for scrap" is the usual excuse they come out with. The Police never do anything. Any witnesses usually end up with their house on fire.

I like the instrument panel. Simple and functional. Not too much bling-bling. :s003:

This could of been an original body in white race car from the factory. Or perhaps one of the rare kit cars that Direct Connection offered in the 70's.

You might be right. The roll cage looks a bit more advanced than I had expected of a car like this. (I do not know very much about old stock cars though.)

it looks like what we call a speedway car over here & was probably just an old clunker when someone decided to take it racing thats common practice here once cars get old enough to be cheap they get turned into speedway car quite good fun but its the end of the car thats for sure
cheers ian

Sold for $1.500.

Some cuts from the ad:
I believe this is a 1970 Dodge Challenger stockcar vintage race car, but it needs to be restored.

It has some rust in floors, but what a nice car to restore.

And the Q&A-section:
Q: hi, in the ad it says, someone is going to own this vehicle. does this mean the actual high bidder actually wins this? thanks john Aug-28-08
A: High bidder wins, YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:s006: I do not know if I am very easy to amuse but I sure got a grin on my face when I read that. :D
