Pictures of both cars would help alot.

Generally speaking though, trading the Nova would seem beneficial as the Challenger is a more desireable car even though it has a 318. Numbers matching is a bonus but check all components carefully. What are the numbers on the car?

CHALLENGER NUMBERS

THE NUMBERS ON THE CHALLENGER ARE JH23G0B171667.

Average retail per NADA on both are..

70 Challenger 318 Auto 2 Door hardtop $18,040

66 Nova S.S. 327 2 door $31,980

This is assuming it was a factory 327 car. These are just the numbers NADA gives. With that said you have to decide which car you like best and go from there.. but as far as money goes.. the Chevy has more Bank value..

If thats a #'s matching SS, I'd hang onto that. I love challengers, but those are really rare and the prices spell it out.

Challenger value still in topic

Hello to everyone in Challenger land. I became a member yesterday 6/7/08

I am hoping to meet knowledgable people who could give me an idea about my car.
First my Challenger is a 340-4speed with the A66 option. I have already found out all about that package and what it consists of. I was wondering if anyone had an idea of how many A66 Challengers were built.
My car is originally Plum Crazy and I THINK its a stripe delete car. It sold new in Portland Oregon and had been painted Black by original owner in late 70's as my understanding is the original Purple went bad. Original owners son had cratered number 5 cylinder wall. Motor was pulled and car just sat in garage until 1980. Thats when the fella I bought it from had bought it. He had put a potent small block in it and drag raced occassionally for fun. It has been in Eastern Washington since the 80's and is ROT FREE. There is some scaling on passenger front floor pan and thats it. Also looks like car had gone off the road at one point and did a little damage but nothing impairing. Car has all of its original sheet metal and appears to be Bondo free. I bought the car last April ( 2007 ) and drove it for summer. Its a blast to drive. Last Fall I pulled motor in it out and then started in removing front end. I havent pulled fenders yet. I sent the cars original 340 over to Jim Greens Performance Center in Lynnwood Washington and they repaired the block. So far only bottom end is all back together.
I have decided to trade this car ( with 54,000 miles ) as it is for a Muscle Car already restored or mostly restored with a lesser value than mine is restored. Problem is I have no idea of the value of my car. Its got the numbers matching motor just about done minus the heads as I dont have those yet, but I do have the numbers matching 4 speed 340 Carb., original radiator, Dual point Distributor. The car does not have a Build Sheet but does have its fender tag that is in great condition. I posted the Challenger last night on craigslist in Seattle/ Tacoma

I would definately value anyones opinion on my car. I know there is no such thing as an easy restoration, but the restoration for my car shouldnt be bad as it is rust free and needs no panel replacement.

My name is Wes and am grateful for a website like this.
Thanks in advance everyone.

Hi.
Nice car. 8)

If you look in the "VIN/Options" part of this message board you should see a thread with Challenger production numbers in it.
