Overdrive 46RE into a chalenger

Postby jmemoli » 02 Mar 2008 15:25

Hi ,
I am new to the board -
Is there any posts or does anyone have information on the "how to" "pros" and "cons " of putting a newer 46re overdrive transmission into an E body ?

Thanks

Wouldnt the transmission tunnel be pretty big in the E-body with that transmission in there? That tranny is a truck based electronic torque convertor controlled lockup unit and although is based on the 727 is much larger? It's PCM controlled as well.

U.S. car&tool makes a 'conversion' rear motor mount and as I have since discovered, the transmission tunnel clears.

I saw it another site Dave. To be honest I dont know. I would however assume it is unless an special adaptor plate that fit between the back of the block and bellhousing would have to be fabricated for a B/RB block :?:
