Metal Seat Tags

Postby 1rallye » 01 Mar 2008 0:02

Just pulled the rear bench seat to put new covers on, and noticed metal tags attached with a series of letters and numbers. Will it tell me anything about the car, or is it specific to the seats? My car does not have a fender tag. Excuse me if it sounds like a rookie question, This is my first Mopar.

Thanks

Thought the same thing about the dog tags. From what I have heard no tie to the cars options though. :x

Thanks Jon,

Has anyone found a build sheet in a challenger, and if so where? This 74 didnt come with a fender tag.

I believe under the front seats... Have you checked there?

Yes, under the front seats is one of the first locations to look. There are a few others but can remember all of them. Alaskan T/A has that info on his website I believe.

If it is an LA built car like mine, I don't think there is much chance of finding one though. The only place I haven't looked on mine is under the headliner.

Above the glovebox, Inside the seats(front and rear), check everywhere.

Thanks for the help.

I am re-doing the back seat now, and didn't find anything there. The front seats are next and then I will be replacing the headliner, and dash. I will update if I find anything.

Take care!

The 74 E-bodies were all built in Hamtramck, so your odds of finding a build sheet are good. One place to look that hasn't been mentioned in this thread is in the dash above the glove box.

Were all of the 74's built in Hamtramck due to sales volume? Or maybe consolidation. Were the other plants simply shut down? :?
