Earthquake!

We are not used to earthquakes here in the UK.
We got woken up at 1am this morning by one that measured 5.4 less than 200 miles to the South of us.
I wondered what had woken me up. I thought the alarm clock had gone off and it was time to get up. So I was confused when I could see it hadn't and it was only 1am. The wife thought she had heard a burglar downstairs. So I had to get up to have a look.
An earthquake of this size, of magnitude five or thereabouts, will occur roughly every 10 to 20 years in the UK. Not something we normally even feel. They always seem to happen at night when we are asleep for some reason.
