I have a B or RB timing chain cover, part number 1945171. It has been chrome plated, which may or may not be original to the part. The timing marker is spot-welded on and goes to 30 degrees BTDC. Can anyone ID this for me, please?

I searched high and low Jack T, all I could come up with is it's an aftermarket replacement. The numbers dont match anything I've looked into. The 440source website has most of the big block apps including Hemi apps but most have 10-15 degree tabs on them except for truck/van apps. I think the timing tab is the tip-off it's aftermarket. Just my guess, could easily be wrong however, BTW, does it have a magnetic probe tube for diagnostics?(The hollow tube next to the timing tab for inserting a damper probe for the Sun Machine tune-up centers, remember those huge hulking machines/cabinets in shop class)?

Thanks, guys. Eddie, it does have that hole but no tube and the closest part number I could find was for a 62-64 361, 383 & 413 fan belt, 1947132. I will call a couple of other folkd I know and see what they can tell me.

Cool ,let us know what you find out. I thought the only factory chrome engine components were from 383 A bodys ,440-4, valve covers and breathers.

It could have been chromed afterwards.... I did that with my B/RB valve covers for my Challenger, part number and all.
