Wayne I would just shelve that carb and someday learn how to re-build it. It's not that difficult and we could surely 'walk' you through it step by freaking step. Purchase a new Holley 770 Street Avenger with an aluminum Eddies dual plane, it would make that 383 run very good and still fit like stock and increase both performance and economy. Keep all your old parts.

Oh, you could probably get it cheaper at sixpack UK speedshop, Dave would know about that I'm sure and where to get it over there. He also may have a better recommendation than that, but it would run very well with that combo or just leave the stock intake. I would say about 400.00 U.S. for one give or take a few dollars and a new fuel line to connect it to your fuel supply.(Wayne, the car would be fun to drive again and you would be worry free if thats the problem).

Yes its has been a while since I had fun with the car, when I drive her now or at least when I did..it was a very nervous and not fun I have to add not knowing if she was goig to die on me!! :tears:

Thats why I said that Wayne. There is nothing fun about 'owning' a car and letting it sit. Then comes thoughts of getting rid of her. I've seen it, and usually thats what happens, the owner ends up bailing and wishes they would have kept it. Also safety, if the cars dies suddenly when you need power to get out of harms way or someone rear ends you ect..No fun at all, and you actually start to 'fear' the damned thing!

Listen to Eddie, Wayne. I think a 770 Street Avenger would be perfect for you. Bolt it on,check the float's, Idle, etc... Cruze on down the road. I'm using a 670 on my 340. No complaint's here. Patrick

They are very good carbs right from the box, you will most likely only need to set the idle set screw to your liking. You can leisurely install it in an afternoon and be up and running in no time Wayne. Those 383 can and will scream! They accounted for 80% of Ma moPars muscle mystic!
