The U.K. looks like it has a chance to eventually "crown" two "heroes" the Rugby Team and Lewis Hamilton! Lewis is just 4 points ahead of his teammate and 7 for Kimi Raikkonen of Team Ferrari! The last race is going to be a showdown, the top three drivers all have a mathmetical chance to claim the World Championship

I played Center, Offensvly and Defensive end, Defensivly in High School. With my height and weight, W.S.U. Made me a Tight End. That was really cool 'till the end and past the cut'!.I was a line guy from a small school. I said, if I ever look out the earhole of my helmet again, that's it! 
Then came Kieth Mallard.About the fourth hit by that guy, and I was done. He got drafted by the Minnisota Viking's. Mark Rypien was my Q.B. Hey, he wasn't that great but, he has a Superbowl Ring!With the Redskin's. 
Anyway, It really is no PUSSY SPORT. That's what the WLoAFB is all about. My team suck's right now. Go PATRIOT'S

My brother was a ball player too Pat. not the psycho brother,(Tom), the business man, Jimmy, he made all state in his senior year but became an accountant instead. Most NFL players dont use pads any more, it slows em down, besides the helmet they have very little actual padding. Line men maybe but the backs both defensive and offensive appear "slick" Pat would know what that means. Speed is everything. 4.4 40 yard dash at 285 lbs. and can bench press 500 lbs. is pretty phenomenal. Oh and they love to hit. Hard 
Those Rugby dudes appear pretty tough as well. I know they dont play around either. I bet they would clean your clock!

I have seen how hard people get it head on. Which is why in Rugby you are not allowed to tackle head on. Without pads everyone would have smashed bones all the time.
I use to watch NFL football every week in the 1980s and stop up late to watch the Superbowl. Kind of got out of the habbit when I got married.
They do hit hard head on when forming the scrum in Rugby though. These guys have hard heads like in Sumo.
Rugby players are about the same size as most average NFL players. They don't have very many of the REALY big guys you have but there is a very good reason for that. They wouldn't last the pace.
In American football you stop and start all the time. Rugby you are on the go all the time.
In American football you have different teams come on for different aspects of play. Defensive and offensive. So half the time half the players are sitting on their butts! You even only bring the kicker on when you need to make a kick!
In Rugby ALL the players have to be on ALL the time. You can only make a couple of substitutions during the game. So every play has to be able to run up and down for a full 90 minutes. You can't do that with 300lbs on you!
You don't bring a player off just because he is bleeding or missing an ear either. Broken or missing limbs would be considered a good excuse.

Posted: 14 Oct 2007 14:49Congrats on beating France Dave! Are you an F-1 fan? I am rooting for MM and Lewis H. and his teammate of course. Interesting, how many F-1 drivers have "defected" to Nascar and the style of driving has them in a state of confusion. With F-1 they cant touch or hit each other especially in anger. The opposite of the driving style they are used to. Juan Pablo Montoya now Jacques Villanueve who will be the next?
