You used to be allowed to walk on Hadrian's Wall. But it has been getting so popular it is causing wear and tear so now you are only allowed to walk alongside it as in the photo I posted above. But you can follow the whole 84 mile route of it if you want.

There are several large forts and settlements along the wall. Plus museum's full of the stuff they find. Not just pots. Clothing food and even letters have been found. Including complaints about lack of supplies and living conditions! Even a birthday invite.
There are still many areas waiting to be excavated. You can see the shapes of streets and houses under the grass.
