My brother the business man,(Bank President), I call him Mr. Drysdale,(If you know who that is you are old like me) I was invited by him to his Business meeting at the track. I was treated like royalty and allowed access to all areas except inside the actual shop areas. Here are a few pics of Wed. May 17, 2007. Tony Kanaan had the fastest lap of the day with a 217.556. Last year they were 10 M.P.H. faster. They made the teams add an aero change which adds a little drag,(brake light at rear of monocoque).

That pic above is the Pagoda. It overlooks the entire track and has 8 stories. The last three levels each has their own bar! The drinks are complimentary! I still lusted after the engine shops! This is looking down upon the track from the Pagoda.

After discussing Tyres with Mr. Fabian I have decided to mount these on my Challenger!

Just kidding, thanks again Fabian, for your impressive RoadRace knowledge! Here is the tire shop the teams use. I over heard the engineers saying 550-650 per tire! I'm pretty sure they meant dollars! Yikes!

Tony Kanaan and Michael Andretti with the engineers. It was 52 degrees F. and very windy. No "F-1 girls" in the usual attire.

BTW, disregard the camera date. I'm just lazy. After lunch,(steak), we were asked to report to the Museum. The track has two,(2), museums, one open to the Public and another that the Hulman Family has in the basement. We were allowed into the basement but NO pics are allowed in that area. :s005: There were approx. 80 cars in the basement. Each had an important historical significance, not necessarily related to the INDY 500, some where though, like the very first Indy winner, Ray Harroun,(Lebanese), won in 1911. He was an engineer. He developed a unique strategy, drivers were allowed a co-pilot at that time. Ray said he didnt need one and mounted a mirror above the canopy which allowed him to see anyone behind him. This device is used in all automobiles today. The rear view mirror! Neat. He "shed" 150-200 lbs. genius!

In June I want to go to the F-1 race U.S. Grand Prix,(GRAND PRIZE)!! This will be my favorite. I have never seen an F-1 car before. My sister lives in Fishers which is 20 min from the track. She said an Formula -1 engine is unlike anything she has ever heard. It's a piercing scream that's high pitched and hurts the ears! I can't wait! The Honda Powered Indy cars are very impressive however but Nothing beats an F-1 car! :V8:

This old man was the Museum Curator and a true gentleman. His "job" is the best. He lives, breathes, and is surrounded by high horsepower everyday and gets paid for it! Lucky bastard :s009:

Jane Hathaway drove a red Chrysler Convertible a 1966 New Yorker? Yeah Dave she sure had the car looks down, but her personal looks....It was an extremely interesting day. Oh, I forgot to say, that was my first time at the INDY 500 Track! It won't be my last! Now for the F-1 race this June 17! Update my car won BOS at a local show, 103 cars entered, 2 were MoPars, 1 Best of show

Eddie, Congrats on your best of show. I have seen and rode in Eddie's Challenger. That car is one sweet ride. Eddie your car would win best of show in most mopar car shows let alone an open car show. Nothing better than a shakered 440 six pack four speed challenger in my books.

Thanks Eddie for the ride.
Bob

Thanks guys, I just wished some of you dudes lived a little closer! We would ride all the time! www.wabashvalleyrodders.com a few of the cars I competed against. Mostly hot rods and modified street machines with a few MuscleCars! Pretty neat time. Bob, you are going to have to come down again. We need to ride for at least another couple of hours!
