This may be a bit of great news for Gen.II 426 Hemi Head lovers.According to the latest edition of MoPar Collectors Guide Magazine; Rod and Custom machine out of Dickson Tenn. has developed a new Hemi casting that is Super Heavy Duty and is available for the Wedge engine as well 413,400,440 according to the article over "600" inches possible. Available in iron and aluminum! if this is true it would be incredible! Hp Performance LLC 2100 old marryville pike,Knoxville Tenn 37920 or call 865-579-2767. The block casting has enormous reinforcement and looks like the older Keith Black Stage I Top Fuel and up block castings! And the article stated that the block could be used for the street! The Aluminum casting uses steel billet cylinder sleeves!

Yeah I can imagine that the prices will be pretty high, This place is just a small operation in Tenn. and they cater mostly to Hot Rods and street machines, its just the fact that any GenII Hemi stuff being made from someone other than M.P. is good news. I have heard of major problems with the M.P. GenII crate hemis, hope this "competition" will force them to resolve these alleged "issues" as the Mighty 426 is a revered name among our people. And the fact that one WILL be on my engine stand soon!

I hope that the competition helps. By the net rumors and stories I've read over the years, Mopar didn't much care about the quality. They were banking on the name as a cash cow.
Maybe I'll win the lottery so I can buy one :s004:

I heard the same thing from a number of MoPar engine builders. I hope this forces DaimlerChrysler to at least look into the QC problem. No reason for this guys, in todays hi-tech manufacturing industry in non-third world countries is inexcusable. It almost makes me think they have a "mole" working at cummins of Canada,(which make the hemis), deliberately ruining the revered Hemi reputation! How can they assemble an engine and forget to put certain plugs or gaskets on it? This is not a mass production line. M.P. has been lucky to have sold more than 5000 TOTAL for the last decade. The issues I have heard and seen with my own eyes is a travesty of engineering and a blatant attempt to discredit M.P. there is no other reason! No modern manufacturing facility is that bad!
