Average prices for used 1970 Challenger Seatbelts

I've been searching for the seat belt set for my 1970 Challenger and find that they are wide ranged in price.
I want to acquire an original set- even if it means having them reconditioned.
I've noticed that the "replacement" new belt sets look nothing like the originals.

Any thoughts, ideas or advice?

For a complet set you are looking a around 300 to 500 U.S and up depending on the condition .If your looking at getting them redone by Snake oil, you are looking at over a grand they look good but unless you have a Hemi or a six pac car that's a hard pill to swallow for just an average challenger. Try doing it your self it's not that hard.Good luck.

This guy restores mopar seatbelts with the PROPER(matching) inside parts and proper, original stitching patterns.He'll also restore yours.

If your looking to buy restored ones----
Be careful with some who claim to restore or replace buckle parts.
You must look at the inside parts of the buckle.
The lock assembly HAS to match or the clip will not lock.
If they don't show and describe the inside parts, stay away.

If belts are complete and just full of dirt, clean them as best you can and then stick them in the dishwasher.

I once repaired a seat belt (not Challenger) by cutting off the damaged bit near the buckle end of the belt and re-stitching it. It was a bit shorter but there is plenty of length on them for the larger American male. :wink:

I had my belts restored by ssnayk-oyl they turned out terrific 900.00 big ones! Yeah its an original shaker sixpack car. Expensive to many, cheap and worth every penny to a work of art. You be the judge, BTW reproduction OEM style belts for chrysler products dont look anything like the factory originals they are much fancier and are too flashy. Remember back in the "day" we cut those suckers OUT man! Only a wussy would wear belts! Plus you cant make out with your chick all strapped up like a geek! Try and find originals then send them off to snayk oyl or have ol man Dave R. restore them for in his dishwasher Ha Ha.

My belts need the dishwasher treatment now after being in the car during the re-spray. They are full of dust. I will take some before and after photos if i can do it while the wife is out. :D

Just in case, you can do a set of before/after pictures of yourself if the wife finds out... now where is that air raid siren smiley when you need it?

Yeah Dave dont let the ol lady catch you! How are you Fabian? I just re-read your article in MoParaction Magazine again. I wish they covered more international events, I find it fascinating how our MoPars cover all geographic boundaries. By the way Ssnayk-oyl does sell re-pops but again they dont resemble O.E.M. and there is another outfit thst sells cheap belts for a decent price, I think its seatbelts.com.
