 I agree! It feels like one zero too much. :s008: If he will manage to sell that car with a $10.000 starting bid, then I will eat my hat....

I like the following text: AND I DONT HAVE THE TITLE TO THIS CAR, BUT IM SURE THE TITLE OF THE CONV. CAN BE OBTAINED IT WAS LAST TITLED UNDER MY FRIENDS NAME AND I SPOKE TO HIM LAST MONTH AND HE SAID HE STILL HAD IT SOME WHERE IN AN OLD PILE OF PAPERS. Not a very good sales argument, eh?

How much would it sell for fully restored? $15K to $20K or am I behind the times?

Even at $25K that would mean you would only have $15K to spend restoring it before you were running into a loss. I don't think that would be enough to finish this car to any decent standard.

Having said that, if prices continue to rise like this it could still be a good investment.

My worry is that the bubble usually bursts eventually like it did in the late '80s and values will half. Then where would you be?

One day the world will wake up and people will realise you can actually get a very good car for the money we are paying for these old buckets that were poor quality even when new if we're honest.

Then maybe this hobby will be afordable again for the people that actually care about these cars. Like us. :D

I stand behind your theory. The craze will die, and the baby boomers will move on to other things.

I spotted what you missed.

This car has not only got the removable top but also the rare optional "Total Air" system which features a removable floor.

Said to be more efficient at cooling than normal air con systems.

Also works as a bidet when driving through rain puddles.

Conclusion: A one of one super-rare option has seen the daylight for the first time? Bidders, please form a queue! :s016:

One day we can't even get any fuel for our cars anymore.

Then we'll just keep them inside like those people paying the same amount of money to stare at a painting at their wall. But he*$¤ll no, I like staring at my car, do I.

Starting bid..

O man,i am glad our cars have a nice value because restoring them cost an arm and a leg,but hey, this is in my opinion plain stupid.
What can you possible save on this car?
If this is the way its going to be how can "ordinary" people buy and restore cars like this in the future? Utter madness!

Maybe that price isn't that crazy after all?

I thought I must be a little out of touch with prices but by THIS MUCH?

$47,000 for a ratty 318 Barracuda convertible. :hmmm:

Yeah, i see your point. :D It's f barn surviver, so i think it is a far more easier to restore than first convertible with total air. Plus to this, some of conv. Challey cost up to 200.000 $ on ebay, pretty good investment. :(
