Update on my recovered Challenger
Posted: 02 Mar 2006 4:30
Hey everybody
Let me tell y'all a little of how I got my car back and it's condition.
Tuesday I got a call from someone who saw my flyer up and had saw a car that matched mine. They said that they could not get close enough to see VIN No. but it had the white mopar spelled out on the back side window. They told me where it was and I had a couple of friend go over there. By the time my friends got there someone else had seen the car and had read about it on the internet,So that person blocked it in and called the police. My friends arrived and the car was about 10 blocks away from where it was stolen at a small auto repair place. Police are investigating.
The damage was: The ignition is gone and the the idiot still couldn't get the car so they removed my steering wheel and colum and put vice grips on to steer the car. No trunk lock, broke into locked glove box. The backseat was pulled up and out but was still in the car. Here is the worst, that idiot towed it by the torsion bar and broke it, also messed my headers all up. But it is still red with a white top! They did clean my trash out of the car and clean the white seats really good.
Here is how I got my parts back. I started screaming "where is my steering wheel, you took my steering wheel" in their parking lot(and remember it took me about 1 and a half hours to get there) the idiot produced my steering wheel, horn button, steering colum piece, hubcaps and air filter from inside shop.
I am really happy and very lucky to have gotten my beloved Challenger back.
I would like to thank everyone who kept an eye out for it. My friends couldn't believe the response I got. They thought it was a great thing all y'all did for me.
Once I can let you know more about the investigation I will plus the name of shop and address of where I found it.
All I've got to say is "Mopar people are the greatest"
