The beginning and end

Postby Rizrtse » 28 Jan 2006 2:49

I have been on this site for years and really never shared many photos - here is the nervous beginning photo - I'll post again the finished product. Still hoping these new leaf springs sag a bit. Any other way to get the rear to heel a bit? I have put about 2k miles on this all original, mostly NOS restored RTSE 383 4 speed air car. May sell one day (yeah right)...keep in touch if someone is really in love with this combination.

The stance of that car looks awsome. Nice body lines, Thumbs up.

Thanks Sal...most Challengers that are bone stock seem to have the rear sit over the tires a bit. I think the car will sag over time right?

Yeah, over time. I thnk you have inspired me to get some new springs. Where did you get yours? I think some modification is ok, especially if it's a driver. Just don't go getting rid of the goodies. Oh yeah, do you have a cd player in that car. If so, how did you mount it? Not wire it, just mount. A pic would be great if possible. I have been trying to find a kit, but it's looking like I might have to get creative.

THanks

Springs are from Year One. The music is just about the last thing I think about with this car! I will never remove the stock amfm thumbwheel radio. This car is 95% all original. the only things that are a bit different is the ignition and carburetor.

Hi nice car ,the spring that you used are they from mopar through year one if so I have heard that they sit a bit high . I used leaf springs from Springs and Things out of the U.S here is a pic of how mine sits . Keep in mind that I have 14" polyglass so there is a little more clearance in the wheel well.

Now that I think of it they are from Springs N Things. You have a nice car as well....love the stripe on the butt....never cared for the hood blackout....took it off my car and stuck the 71 RT logo decal.....the only thing that is not period correct on my car but I needed something to break up the green hood and didn't want to commit to the full blackout.
