Been to Canada twice (Ontario, Alberta and for a few hours BC) and been to the USA (New York) once just for a few days and a bit of shopping.

My eldest sister lived between San Francisco and LA for 5 years but I never had the money to go visit. :(

My car was built at Detroit and lived in Texas before I bought it.

It was interesting to see on the map that Barry in Alaska is within driving distance of some of the places I have been to. So one day I might really leave a note on his car.

Seriously?
Translation I would think would be Bloke = Guy or Dude.

Language and dialect are very interesting don't you think?

Where I live we would say "He's a canny bloke" meaning "He is a man of outstanding qualities".

But just up the road in Scotland it would mean "He is very careful with his money" which for a Scottish bloke is an outstanding quality.

Peter ,

Did you see the Grand Canyon? It is so awesome in person. Scares me to stand by the edge. How about Zion or Bryce Canyon? And Monument Valley with all of the old red western platues. Boating on Lake Powell well that just boggeles the mind. And then there's.........

They rent RV'S whereas you can stay over night wherever you want. Say $250 a day.

Been to the US around 6-7 times.
Most interesting trip was to visit a friend in Huntsville State Pen, Texas. We flew to Dallas, spent a few days with his folks, had a day at the jail, (this was in 1985 and he's still in there now) and then caught the Greyhound bus to San Fransisco via Denver, Salt Lake City, and Las Vegas. What a country! (Got piles from sitting on my ass for 2 days on that damn bus)!

The same goes for everyone who happens to be in the neighborhood of Gothenburg (Sweden). Just drop me a mail and I will be happy to show you around.
