STORAGE what is the best way of storing our cars

Postby johannes » 23 Oct 2005 18:49

Ideally we would all have a heated garages to store our cars in.
Most of us however, will have to use barns, and shelters.

What is "the best way" to store our classics?

I remeber having heard of a "Plasticbag garage".
This "garage" was to be used indoors, and had a small electric heater connected to it, blowing warm air into the bag containing the car.

This product was THE THING when it came to carstorage.

It must be ca 20 years ago that I heard of it, and I don't even know if this was a REAL product, or just some idea my friends had.

Considering mice/insects/pets which migth be attracted to the heatsource.... I don't even know if this product is worth while ?

Does anyone know of such a product, and has any feedback regarding its use ???

Thanks; Johannes.B.

There are quite a few products that fit that description. I will be at a big classic car show in a couple of weeks. I will pick up a few details for you as there is always a few on display.

NEC Classic car show just outside Birmingham. It is the biggest Classic car show in the country. All indoors in two or three large arenas. There is normally a few American car clubs represented but it is mainly British and European classics. The trade stands are all related to the "normal" Classic car owners over here.

 Did I not reply to that e-mail Johannes? I thought I had? I must have forgotten. :blushes:

THE PERFECT CRISTMAS GIFT ?!?

Postby johannes » 11 Dec 2005 16:03

I found my "plastc garage" at last....
One brandname is CARCOON.

http://www.carcoon.co.uk

I was not able to view the video.
Would like know how much hassle is is to drive the car in/out of these bags....

Does anyone have any comments to the benefits/drawbacks of using this bubble? Is this the best storage we can get with limited founds???

Perhaps we should try to get a "DiscussionBoardmember's discount" ??
