Remakes

Postby Tim » 10 Oct 2005 13:42

Having endured the remake of Starsky and Hutch, and thoroughly enjoyed the remake of the Dukes of Hazzard (yeah, I really did), I got to wondering which of our fave car- related films would be worth a remake using today’s advanced technology, etc, and which should be left well alone.

I’ve long- thought ‘Christine’ could be re- done brilliantly with DTS sound, green- screen CGI and some top rate actors. Nothing wrong with the original, but room for improvement. Maybe the car could have done with a bit more ‘oomph’?

The other film which strikes me as ripe for a make- over is ‘Crazy Larry, Dirty Mary’. Just think- bellowing big blocks, and Jessica Alba playing Dirty Mary :s022: . Surefire winner!

Any more suggestions to add to the remake list?

i can't think of any off my head, but this makes me wonder if they will ever redo other classics(not car related). Like Jaws, or some of the Clint Eastwood movies. It seems to be a small hollywood trend to remake old classics, so we may see much more remakes in the next 4-5 years.

I would rather they wouldn't. I would rather they did something original. Some hope.

Vanishing Point on the BIG screen gets my vote!
Same plot as the original version.

I would be up for a comedy parody of Vanishing Point called
"Vanishing Pint". I could star in it and maybe we could get Norm from "Cheers" to do a cameo apearance? :s019: :s019: :s019:

:hmmm:

lol,
