Milky Oil

Postby Rizrtse » 04 Oct 2005 1:21

Dumped my oil today after sitting car for a while and noticed a creamy texture to the oil.....definitely not the dirty burnt bad oil that is often seen after miles of neglect. I have maybe 2000 miles on this oil....sound like the leaking antifreeze into the oil or just some condensation? Motor rebuilt very carefully 3000 miles ago. Car sits in storage for an enitre cold winter without much running time.

Water leak into the oil. Find the cause before you do any damage. Maybe a blown head gasket. There are other causes which I will not scare you with now.

You can sometimes get condensation in the valve covers and a bit of the milky stuff in there but if it is in the sump oil chances are you have a problem.

Changed the oil...let me see what it looks like after a few miles. If this motor is not solid I am pulling it out of this all-original restored car and putting it aside for a crate Hemi! I think the car may fetch more one day with both. I am not rebuilding it again.
