T-shirt print suggestions....

Postby Christer » 02 Jun 2005 13:25

With Dave´s blessing, I have been trying to work out some suggestions on how a t-shirt print can look like. It has taken me some time since I am not very good at working with photoshop and so on. (And I am stupid enough to try to do it myself....)

I thought that I would show you all the following two suggestions, so that you all get a chance to give your opinions. (I will also make a couple of more suggestions. These two suggestions are NOT the only ones I intend to do.)

I intend to use black t-shirts only, and only in two sizes: L and XL. The goal is to use a high quality print on a high quality t-shirt. I think it is worth a couple of extra $$$ if we get a t-shirt that lasts longer than the first wash.

Remember that the two suggestions below are only early suggestions. The one who decides about what to do and so on is Dave. I will not do anything without his permission.

The summer is closing rapidly. I would have wanted to be a little bit further in this project right now but I am not. The best we can do right now is to try to finish the project a quick as possible.

The intention is to sell the t-shirt at a low price. I suggest that an eventual profit will be splitted between Dave, Johan (JR) and myself.

Note 1: The black frame has the size of an A4-paper who is 297 mm high (about 12") and 210 mm wide (about 8"). That gives you a hint of how big the print will be.

Note 2: I have NOT got permission from Anni to use her pic yet. The homepage http://www.feel-the-noise.com/ is down for the moment, so I haven´t been able to contact her. Maybe I have to ask for help when it comes to this matter!?

That´s a pity because I prefer #2 myself. Just kidding, thanks for your input guys. I´ll keep you posted.

Yes, at least that is the goal.

I will try to make 2XL-t-shirts as well. Thanks for your input.

I like #1 also.

I have sold a few T-shirts over the years, and 2X sales total more than all other sizes combined. XL is a far second, at least in my experience so far.

All I can say right now is that this will take more time than I first expected (as most of my projects tend to do....). Sorry for that. I will not give up though.

This is Christer's project and nothing to do with me. Funny enough Christer has not been on here for week or so? He is usually on here every day.

The short and simple answer is No. Lousy progress and lousy communication.
No-one to blame but myself. What has happened? Here´s the story:
It feels like I got stuck on square number one. I have several times tried to get in
contact with Anni Walder but failed. The answer I have got is that Anni
is off the scene due to sickness or something. The closest I have got to her is a presumed mailadress
to her husband (Bob). To mail him gave nothing. Their web-site is closed since long time ago.
It is a pity because I like the pic myself.

I have also been in contact with an englishman who already is in the t-shirt business.
He prefers to use his own pic´s so that there will be no copyright issues.
He is of course in the business because he wants to earn a buck or two.
To be able to come up with something without him would mean a less costly product and so on.

What did I do then? By coincidence, Mr_SixPack suggested that I could use a pic of his
well known Paul Rossi Challenger. That idea pleases me because I like that car very much myself.
Another thing is that the car unites my home country with UK and US.
In short, I think it is a very good (or at least good enough) pic to use.
I have contacted Sharkman (a VERY nice guy!) about the rights to this pic and he has given me a VERY GOOD offer.
(He has even sent me a 300 dpi file of that pic.)

Any help or any suggestions appreciated....

//Christer

Btw: I have bought three t-shirts to use as pilot t-shirts.
In a catalog, I have found a special paper which can be used for t-shirt prints.
I guess you just use an sewing-machine to add it on the t-shirt.
The quality is a unknown chapter though.

That would be a great shot for a t-shirt Chris but it needs photoshopping to get rid of the background. The Challenger would look cool isolated.

Hope I'm not stepping on anyones toes here.

Dave...is this anywhere close to what you had in mind?

I know I'm still a newbie here, but I like the place and will do what I can to help.
For what it's worth...I have access to a t-shirt press...and also have several different software programs here on my computer that I can use to create different designs, along with a couple thousand different font styles.

Looks good to me. :D

Although I think a shirt with a stock Challenger from each model year should be available too.

I like it! Do you think you can do two proposals from the pic? Just add the text DODGECHALLENGER.ORG.UK above the pic in the first proposal, and the same text below the pic in the second proposal? It would be vary appreciated. Also add "Sharkman" down to the right on the pic. I really hope I am not asking too much? Chris

A suggestion is to use this color: DODGECHALLENGER.ORG.UK

I don't think of this place as a club or the shirt a club t-shirt.

Having said that, I guess it is a bit like a club. Like-minded people getting together in this cyberspace to get help or help others with the same interest.

I never thought of it like that.
