I have bought an ebay item, but now I am having problems with sending the payment.

This is the second time this particular seller uses paypal. The seller stated from the beginning that "I DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS THRU PAYPAL!!!" (Even though he/she has a paypal/mastercard/visa sign on the bottom line!!!!!)

Anyway, I won the auction. A couple of days ago, I sent the money through paypal. The paypal status was pending for two days or so, and then denied.....Through a mail I got today (from the seller), the seller says that "My PayPal account is not set up to accept credit cards". Question: Doesn´t all of the paypal payments use credit cards?

Been a while since I used paypal but can't you also use a debit card for payment (switch etc)? Maybe that is what it is?

I don't see how the method of your payment effects how the seller is credited? You would think the seller would advise what payment types you can use?

Pay pal has 2 types of service. The basic form only allows transfers from checking or paypal account.

The premium service allows you to take credit cards, for a fee. If the seller is being cheap, he/she will not sign up for the premium service as it cost's about 3% of the sales price.

My feeling is that the seller isn´t familiar with the paypal paying procedures (he/she even admits that). My problem is that I only have used paypal to send money(as a buyer). I have never recieved any money through paypal, so I can´t advice him/her what to do.

He/she asks the following question: Can you pay thru paypal in any other way? Well, is it possible to do so???? Any sellers who uses paypal out there?

It is also possible to pay with Money order/Cashiers check. I have never done that before so I would feel more comfortable if I could use paypal....

I didn´t notice your post when I wrote the answer above.

I have an idea! If I send the payment to one of you (anyone with the correct type of paypal account) and also add my adress. Then maybe one of you could pass my payment on to the seller.

If anyone of you thinks this sounds OK, just let me know. Well, that is the best idea I can come up with for the moment. (I am willing to add a dollar for the inconvenience....)

I've used Western Union couple times. Went to their local office, filled paper and gave money. It took like 15 minutes and then they got code from some headoffice. I sent this code using email to seller who got money out of his local WU office using it. There's handling fee.

I think I used some web version of same thing later. Went to website, entered ebay auction number and credit card number. Then they sent money order to seller and charged credit card. Obviously it's not free service either.

This was about two years ago. Not sure how things might have changed since.

Transferring money directly someones bank account isn't that much harder either. However, many people (especially americans) seems to think that giving bank account number means you can transfer all moneys to your own account from it. Silly them. Oh, and this will cost some extra as well since both yours and sellers bank will charge handling fees. Unless you're transferring euros between two countries using euros.

I'm not sure if this will work but what you may be able to do is transfer the money from your bank account to your paypal account so that you are in credit with paypal and then send the payment. Failing that ask the seller to upgrade his paypal account which shouldn't be that difficult for him.
