I am Dave from the Ed Skanes race team. We are the ones who restored the #48 Dan Gruney AAR Cuda and the #77 Posey Challenger T/A. We are working on the #76 Challenger T/A right now and will have it finished in the spring. We also have and restored the Petty kit car Challenger Prototype (Now #74). We will be attending a few shows next year with the #76 Challenger and also we will be at Daytona with the Petty Challenger in Feb 05 for the Daytona Rolex 24 Hour race. We will be doing the exibition before the race with other vintage race cars. We have been doing this with the Challenger and Cuda for several years now. If anybody is coming or sees one of the cars at a show next year just ask for me and I would be glad to show you more of the cars and tell you all about them. Thanks ViperDave

I always try to watch the Monterey Historic races every year. For me the highlight is when the Trans Am cars from the mid'60s - early '70s run. A close second are the Can Am cars of that same period :s002:
This is the Historic Trans Am website, though it hasn't been updated in who knows how long http://www.trans-amseries.com/homepage.htm

Here's a way (sort of) to go vintage Trans Am racing http://www.usvintagetransam.com/

No Challangers in them though. I am not sure if I shall fell happy for that or feel sorry for that. :? Apparently they did use a couple of Challengers. Here are some scans from the book "Muscle Plymouths!". The same author (Thomas E. Bosall) has also made a book called "Muscle Dodges!" It is a bit hard to understand why he did not include these Hell Driver Challenger pic´s in that book instead. A mix-up? :s006:

I would be very surpised if any of these Challengers still are alive. :s008: :tears:

There were two. Sam normally drove 77, but they would swap the numbers on them to put Sam in whatever car was doing better that day.

Hey Chris did you notice the 70 Challenger convertible in the Hell Drivers-Mobile Oil link that you posted? It appears at the 22 second mark and is over at the 25 second mark.
