just bought a 74 challenger, in rough shape, looking for r/t hood and body panels if anyone in uk has anything need every main panel ,

Very little chance of finding those parts in the UK. Although the occasional hood comes up now and again every few years.

Are you a MMA member?

Is this going to be a quality resto? Race car? Half decent driver?

Show is some photos in the members cars area so we can see what you are starting with. :nod:

Hi Paul, if your not in the MMA you really need to join, its the best source of help and parts in the UK.
I have all the front end panels off a 70 challenger in the shed, non R/T if thats any help, and also a new rear valence, again non R/T. Also have a few trim parts.

hi dave/dan,

yes thats the one, looks good in photos but a bit rusty,

new to these later mopars, been into late fifties chryslers for past few years, sold my 58 dodge custom royal earlier in year , and fancied a change, this 74 challenger came up on ebay, the guys description was way out, and needs a total restoration, suprisingly the floors are good mainy roof gutters and quarters/wings etc that are rusted, the bulkhead around the heater ducts is rotted out, i have found places in the states that sell new panels , thought i try on here to see if anything in uk, just trying to find best way to ship parts, i will join the MMA, been part of the forward look forum for a few years, but that has gone quite recently and parts for the 50`s stuff is very hard to find,
will get some pictures up, only picked up the other weekend just in middle of stripping car and making out a long list.

Be carefull when cutting out the rusty areas around the roof and front/rear glass. Just remove a bit at a time because some areas of the panels are stressed at one or two points and can "pop" out of shape once you start cutting around the edges.
The areas around the glass are easy to make yourself.

A very different car to the classic "Forward Look" stuff. Best of luck with it. :s017:

the roof is only attatched at the quarters totally rusted all way around, just got the axle to remove then should be off to the blasters next week,

It seems like you got it fairly cheap. Yes, there is a lot that needs to be done so the prise shoud not be sky-high.

A good idea to disassemble the firewall before you go to the blaster. :s017:
