Question: Did all of the T/A:s have #742 rear axles or just some of them? I noticed that this car has a #742 rear axle.

Another thing I came to think about when I looked at the picĀ“s: I doubt that the interior door panels are from 1970. Because all of the T/A:s were made late in the production year (feb 1971 - june 1971?), then all of them should have the wood grain inserts in the door panels. Am I right or am I wrong?

The 742 is easier to rebuild as it uses shims for pinion bearing preload rather than a crush sleve.

its also the preferred diff as it has clutch plates that can be set up thighter for racing rather than the 489 cone clutch style,
its a lovely old car timewarp.

Humm I have 3 diffs I should check the numbers :lol:

I would love to go out and drive this car just for fun since it is kinda broken in :wink:
