92 Big Block Dakota Project

Postby burdar » 01 Apr 2009 18:17

I started this project in 05. The trunk origonally had a 3.9L V6 in it, but I swapped in a 400BB from a 76 Newport. My intention was to drive it and make improvments as time went by but life got in the way. I met my wife shortly after starting the project and it never really took-off like I thought. I bought the truck from a collage student who was from Texas. The truck has no rust on it at all but it does need some bodywork and paint.

The truck does run and it does drive. I drove it a little over 100 miles since I got it running. Here is a list of NEW parts I installed on the truck.

Autometer gauges(tach, speedometer, oil pres, water temp, fuel, batt)
custom console with new B&M floor mounted shifter
custom stereo in the ext cab section of the truck
BellTeck front and rear drop kit(2" front/4" rear)
new convertor
MP purpleshaft cam
MP polished alum VC's
new carpet
rear roll pan(replaced rear bumper)
flush mount tonue cover with gas shocks
20 gal alum fuel cell in truck bed
Flowmaster 40 series mufflers
electronic ignition
new A/C system with new Sanden style compressor

The truck has been sitting for a few years just taking up a lot of space. If it doesn't sell I'm going to have to try and part it out. I have over $4500 in all NEW parts on the trunk not including the purchase price and FREE engine/trans I got for it. It would be great if I could get $4000 for it but I would seriously consider any offer.

20" wheels on the truck are not for sale. the 255-35-20 Falken tires are however.
