My 70's progress..

Postby cv70chall » 03 Oct 2012 19:18

Here are some of the latest pics of my progress. It's been a while since I've posted, mainly because I've had some setbacks due to the discovery of poor prior work- and having OCD- I had to make what I could right again.

Lookin good Chuck :D
Are you gonna keep the painted bumper? Looks cool like that
I saw the posts about the trunk floor but I didn't realise you had issues with the rest of the floor pan! Bet you were pissed with that

Yes, I plan on leaving the bumpers painted. I might, at some time, decide to go with a set of chrome ones. The trunk and floor pans pissed me off to no extent- especially because they were new parts that I ordered and I instructed the body guys (along with my brother in-law) who were handling this at the time exactly what needed to be done.
Instead of installing the trunk floor properly, they botched it- and didn't even weld it! It was installed with wood screws!!!
Then came the floors...where I made it clear that the old floors HAD to be cut out. Of course, this group of monkeys simply welded in the new floors over the old ones! Ridiculous.
Needless to say, the car was removed from their facility and I began the long journey of making all the corrections myself.
It's tough to trust other people...impossible to trust family....
