Found some codes online.

G35 is a drivers side chrome remote control mirror.
L25 is a trunk light
M42 comes up as "front end molding". Not sure what that is in this case.

Wow, thanks a bunch Dave! The colour schematic is horrible! Tan/Green! It would look nice on a Jaguar but not a MoPar! Yes, the Chally has a Center console with the floor slap stick style shifter, but that will change to a floor mounted Pistol Gripped Shifter. :thumbsup:

That's a nice looking car. I thought it was supposed to be a 73 though? Here is a chart showing all Challenger paint codes. T6 was a 72 only color. That color would probably look good when fresh. The white looks really good though.

If there is a code for a trunk light, then the car has the "light package". You couldn't order those items separatly. It was all or nothing. You should also have fender mounted turn signals, a map light, glovebox light and ignition key light.

OK, I didnt think so but figured I would ask the expert. I'll place ads in MoParts for a set. If I cant find anything I will use the Viper Kit for 73/74 E-Body disc spindles, 13" rotors, AR billet steel hub, 2004 on up Viper 4 Piston Calipers which I can get from a shop here near me that sells new/used Viper parts, 17X8 Mustang Bullit wheels. Pricey yes, but should be able to stop quickly with little brake fade with repeated stops. Unlike my 70! :lol:

Thank you Burdar! Yes, it's a 1972. I had thought it was a 1973 but as usual, I was wrong. The bumpers are like my 70,,enclosed are the pics of the "light package" the trunk has a cutout,,I assume this was for the light. The fenders have the turnsignals lights as well. Also a pic of the super solid trunk floor.

I am pretty sure the car was 'hit' at one time in the rear. There is slight damage to the tailpanel, but not so much as to worry about it for a stout daily driver that looks nice,,not show quality but acceptable. The drivers side 1/4 has been replaced, decent job BUT NOT show quality. I just wanted a rust free Challenger that looks kinda stock except for wheels and tires but runs like Banshee! I will try and make it as nice as possible. Thanks for all your help guys and ANY suggestions or advice is GREATLY appreciated. I dont know 'codes' or what should be correct. Machining&Engine assembly are my specialty,,stupid on everything else! :lol:

That would be the A01 package. But I thought that code would be on the tag if it had it?? :?

I actually quite like that 1970 tan colour. It is More of a bronze. A mate of mine has a Barracuda in that sort of colour but with a white top and interior. The '72 colour is horrible though.

And a green interior with that colour is just strange. Maybe it was orderd by Ray Charles or Stevie Wonder? :lol:

A01 isn't usually on the tag for some reason. It's not on my tag either. It would be on the build sheet though. This is how it was explained to me on another site....

Darren, what I was trying to get at is A01 is not printed on a 73 Challenger tag. I just didn't want to say that in the open forum.

Since you have L31 on the tag and L31 was only available in the light group, you have the A01 light group on the car.

Typically, codes on tags have to do with body modification or punching holes. For example, L31 required holes in the fenders, Radio codes required holes in the fender, A/C codes require a different firewall, mirrors required holes in the doors, moldings required holes...things like that. Inside ligts didn't require holes in the body.

Great news! I just spoke with Phil,, he's going to the MoPar Nats in Aug. and has the taller Caliper brackets for the 11.75 rotor conversion! He is going to stop at my home and we will exchange parts. I will buy the parts I need and work out a deal for the un-used parts I dont need. Cool! I would rather go the Cop Car deal than the Viper deal. Way less money.

Thanks Drew, the Cop Car brake 'package' will be ideal. Cheap, Easy to source parts, plenty of surface area and force. This is all I need in a street braking system. I'll sacrifice some unsprung weight for cost.

Thats the set up I want too Eddie but I like you have disc brake spindles and want to fit 11.75" rotors. I must go thru the brake posts to see if I can find that link to the adaptor bearing, it'll make the swap a breeze, only have to find larger caliper brackets then :wink:

Yeah, THANKS Adrian, thats a nice alternative with easily sourced parts. Like I said, I already have the 73 disc brake spindles installed with the bigger bearing. This allows the 1 piece 10.78 rotors without changing anything else. All I need now is the taller caliper adaptors,(brackets), then I can install the larger Cop Car,(Cordoba), 11.75 rotors from NAPA and re-use my Calipers with NAPA,(Raybestos), Gold Ceramic Pads. I like NAPA brake stuff, I attended their 2 day brake school and it was very infomative! Phil has em and I can complete the conversion after he attends the MoPar Nats. By then I will also have the torque boxes and subframe connectors and skid plate. :thumbsup:

I ordered the Torque boxes,(set of 4) from Auto Rust technicians, and set of countoured sub-frame connectors from Mancini Racing. I am stripping out the interior carpet and seats so I dont start a fire when welding, gonna strip the old undercoating off and spray some weld thru primer. Will post pics as I progress thru it. :thumbsup:
