Posted: 05 Mar 2011 17:14I think it would be a great idea Jeff. E-85 would easily support 10:5 to 1 or even much higher than that! It is used a lot in Supercharged, Turbo, and 14:5 to 1 Comp ratio engines. Ethanol based fuels are detonation 'resistant' due to the much cooler combustion and the fact thats it's 105 Octane. You could even see a horsepower/torque increase and I bet it would 'cure' any pinging issues. My modified E-85 Holley was only 540.00 bucks and worked very well out of the box. Eric at Horsepower Innovations built my E-85 Carb. http://www.horsepowerinnovations.com (dont blow a jizz valve when you see the gm car)

You have a safe trip! Can't wait to see a few pic's of the trip and car.
