G'day all.
Bought myself a '70 R/T Challenger in May, and I finally got it home yesterday
(the guys importing it for me were slooooooooooooow). Purchased from San Diego, CA - I live in Sydney, Australia.
It a 383 Magnum, A727 TF with 8 3/4 3.23 SureGrip - all 3 #'s matching.
Originally left the factory FE5 Bright Red with White Longitudinal stripe, bonnet blackout and black interior. Was repainted by a previous owner about 13 years ago in the colour you see here, which I believe is a GM colour:
Cortez Silver from a '69 Chevelle.
Have a bunch of receipts dating back to '97 which include a PST front end rebuild kit, front rear sway bars - and a host of other stuff, CPPA Headers, Magnaflow mufflers, engine rebuild, interior is near new. Everything was either reconditioned or replaced where needed - and since it was only driven sparingly since then, it's all pretty much the same.
Does have a small amount of rust around both rear wheel arches. Nothing earth-shattering though, so it's not a major issue for me (
yet!).
Unfortunately, since it's sat practically dormant since May, upon arrival the battery was dead - but after replacing it still couldn't get any spark from the ignition coil. The plan was to replace the plugs, leads etc, so adding a coil & distributor to that list is not a bad idea anyways.
Hopefully I can have it running and on the road before Christmas - fingers crossed! - so expect a bazillion and 6 questions ... and photo's to match.
Cheers,
Russ
